Aspen Power Catamarans Unveils the C128: A New Standard in Outboard-Powered Cruising

BURLINGTON, Wash. – Aspen Power Catamarans has introduced its newest model, the C128, a 46-foot-long flagship vessel powered by twin Suzuki 300hp outboard engines. This innovative catamaran combines Aspen’s patented asymmetrical hull design with the efficiency, speed, and versatility of modern outboard propulsion.

Designed for optimal performance, the C128 will achieve cruising speeds of 18-20 knots and a top speed of 26-28 knots according to the manufacturer. Fuel efficiency is a standout feature of all Aspens and the C128 is expected to use 17 gallons per hour at 16 knots—50-60% less than comparable boats—giving the vessel a range of more than 270 miles.

“The new C128 is the flagship of our outboard line, and it is a real standout,” said Larry Graf, Aspen’s founder and chief engineer. “This 44-foot flybridge combines quiet, efficient outboards with great speed and handling, plus plenty of space and comfort for extended cruising.”
The twin Suzuki 300hp DF300BMB outboards, featuring dual four-blade stainless steel counter-rotating props, provide reliability, quieter operation, and improved maneuverability. The twin engine outboard C128 provides several benefits over diesel engine configurations. These include a shallower draft, the redundancy of twin engines and increased storage capacity in the lazarette. All of these enhance the boat’s suitability for extended cruising, offshore fishing, diving, and watersports.
Efficiency Meets Comfort
The C128’s patented hull design has garnered multiple awards and ensures smooth, quiet operation and exceptional stability. The interior layout offers a blend of functionality and luxury, making it ideal for entertaining, relaxing, or long-range cruising.

The main deck includes a helm station with companion seating, a fully equipped galley, and a spacious salon. Large doors and windows connect the salon to the cockpit, which features a bar counter, ample seating, and outdoor space ideal for fishing, watersports, and entertainment. The flybridge offers a secondary helm station, a plush seating with a table and offers a versatile open-air lounge with panoramic views. The flybridge can be covered with a Bimini top or an optional hard top.
Below deck, the C128 accommodates up to six passengers with three staterooms and two heads. The full-beam primary suite features a king-size bed, ample storage, and direct access to one of the heads. The guest suite includes a queen-size bed, while a twin stateroom provides additional sleeping or can be used for storage.
With 800 square feet of combined living and deck space, the C128 offers flexibility for both social gatherings and quiet retreats.

First Launch and C128 Future Plans

The first Aspen C128 is under construction and slated for completion in spring 2025. After commissioning and the owners extended sea trials (cruising) in Puget Sound, the vessel will be delivered to its home port in the Chesapeake Bay. Plans include extensive cruising along the East Coast, from Maine to Florida, and trips to the Bahamas.
Aspen Power Catamarans aims to redefine luxury and performance with the C128, setting a new benchmark for outboard-powered cruisers.
