Our friend Bob Bitchin, formerly of Latitudes and Attitudes fame, reflects on the benefits of going to sea vs. the land-locked alternative. Only 1% of us ever get to watch a sunrise out of sight of land on the open sea, or ogle at the millions of stars that can only be seen offshore. Most of the 99% think we are crazy to face the vast oceans firsthand, but Bob helps us understand that the self-sufficiency and introspection of cruising just might be the therapy we need.
