Euro-Styled Explorer from New Builder – Navan T30

Navan is a relatively new boatbuilding brand that launched in 2023 and is part of the Brunswick family. I wasn’t really aware of these boats till I visited the US debut of the Navan T30 in Miami. The Navan T30 is essentially a center console but with European styling including a plumb bow and stylish blackened pipework that holds up the hard top. The overall appearance and format make the boats a crossover into the explorer group. The brand is meant to compete with Axopar and Saxdor as a contemporary day cruiser that can also be fished, used for watersports, and general recreation.
I find it interesting that Navan has a double stepped hull and Brunswick’s T-step technology which has some similarity to the new Boston Whalers that were also released in Miami. The T step itself appears as a flattened center chine section that leads from the transom to the first step. Ahead of the second step the deadrise steepens with multiple chines and eventually transitions to the plumb (actually almost canoe as it slightly curves aft) bow. I know the engineering team spent considerable time dialing in those first stepped hull versions of the Boston Whalers and suspect the Navan will benefit from this similar technology too.
As far as accommodations go, the Navan T30 has some unique fold down and flipping seats that can configure the boat in different ways. An open galley/wetbar prep counter is revealed when one of the seats is rotated aft which provides a nice set up for entertaining. There is ample seating including helm and companion seats that spin 360° and a seating area ahead of the helm pod. Belowdecks there is a head in a small cabin that hosts a berth and could be used for light overnighting or daytime napping as well as for changing and storage. Overall the Navan T30 appears to be a comfortable Eurostyle day cruiser/explorer and I expect to see more and learn more about this brand.
