Grand Banks 62

GB62

The company may have been founded in 1956, but Grand Banks Yachts is still going strong. Now under the leadership of renowned ocean racer and shipwright Mark Richards, the Grand Banks yachts of today hint at their past heritage with classic good lines, while they deliver the ultimate in modern performance and refined finishes. The Grand Banks 62, their newest addition to the fleet, will debut to the world at the Palm Beach show.

“The principles you’ll see in the Grand Banks 62 define the 60 series, and indeed our entire range,” said Richards in a press release. “Less weight. More strength. Less fuel burn. More range. More speed, less resistance, and of course all this means more efficiency, resulting in lower emissions.”

According to Grand Banks Yachts, the 62 has a top speed of 30 knots with a high cruise speed of 27 knots—a departure from the go-slow Grand Banks of yore. The builder also claims a 20-knot fuel burn of 38 gallons per hour, which is quite impressive for a 62’ motor yacht. A 2,000 nautical mile range with 10% reserve is reportedly achieved at 10 knots.

Aside from jaw dropping performance achieved with modern construction materials and the V-Warp® hull technology Mark developed the Grand Banks 62 delivers considerably more room than the popular Grand Banks 60 all in opulent varnished splendor. The Grand Banks 62 is sure to cause quite a buzz at the show and we look forward to hopping aboard.
