Nautical Northwest – A new magazine for the Salish Sea and beyond

Nautical Northwest is a new print publication focused on, you guessed it, boating in the Pacific Northwest. This bimonthly (six issues a year) publication champions the region’s incredible boating and aquatic adventures while also covering marine communities and businesses.

Nautical Northwest

If you are a Best4Boats reader, you are no doubt familiar with our award-winning editorial director Norris Comer who is also the editor in chief of Nautical Northwest. He has built a team of marine journalists at Nautical Northwest to tell the exciting stories of this vast boating area.

Starting a print magazine today might seem strange but Todd Feinroth, Nautical Northwest’s owner and publisher, saw the need for a new magazine while talking to fellow boaters and business owners in the Puget Sound area. Todd is an accomplished sailor and boater who lives along the shores of Lake Washington. He can often be found on one of his boats in the San Juan Islands. Launched at the Seattle Boat Show in February 2026, Nautical Northwest is already popular in the region and has grown its reputation during its short tenure.

Each feature-rich issue is printed on high quality paper stock producing a content rich magazine that you can sit down and peruse anywhere with no internet or power needed. Best of all Nautical Northwest is widely distributed at local chandleries, yacht clubs and marinas where it can be picked up for free. You can also read the magazine online and paid subscriptions are available for those who want the magazine mailed to them.

In today’s age of fast paced electronic media, we applaud the efforts of Todd, Norris, and the Nautical Northwest team to keep independent marine related print media going. If you live in the great wet north or are interested in cruising the Salish Sea, Canadian Gulf Islands, the Inside Passage, and connected waters, you really should check out this exciting new marine magazine.

Great boating content takes a village. When two or more of our writers put their heads together, you get the combined experience of careers spent fishing Alaskan waters, captaining yachts, living aboard sailboats, and decades in marine publishing, design, and technology — all in service of one shared passion for life on the water.
