New Furuno TZtouchE and TZMap Multi-Function Displays (MFDs)
Furuno launched two new series at the show: the TZMap line, designed to be stand-alone MFDs, and the TZtouchE MFDs, which are fully networkable. They look identical, and both have touchscreen controls and a choice of 9” or 13” screens.
The TZMap series is designed for smaller boats that don’t require complex networking. Because the user interface is the same as the more complex networkable TZtouchE series, switching between units is easier. For example, on a larger yacht with the TZtouchE system in the pilothouse and the TZMap in the tender, the experience is identical. The TZMap line also allows boaters to have the same functionality as a fully integrated TZtouchE system, but at a more affordable entry level.
MSRP for the TZMap 9&13 is $1,596 & $2,395 compared to $2,195 & $3,095 for the fully networkable TZtouchE.
