Tiara 39LS – Buffet Lounging on a Hot Rod

For boaters and those in the biz, the arrival of autumn is boat show season, a prime time for builders to debut their newest, shiniest models. Enter the Tiara 39LS, a new, midsized addition to the legacy Holland, Michigan-based builder’s Luxury Sport (LS) Series that replaces the 38LS model. With an emphasis on sporty outboard propulsion and luxury accommodations, the LS Series lineup ranges in size from the 34LS to 56LS and is all about enjoying a day on the water in style. We at Best4Boats haven’t had a chance to hop on aboard the 39LS but figure a sneak peek would be a good primer for the inevitable in-person meeting during boat show season.
Right off the bat, the eyes are drawn to those gorgeous twin Mercury 600 V12 7.6L Verado outboard engines and the compelling deck space. Tiara reports a top speed of 54 miles per hour (about 47 knots)—1,200 horses will do that. No matter where you boat the Tiara 39LS will get you there quick. In Seattle where I live that means getting to the San Juan Islands in under two hours. Sign me up! Florida boaters will find the fishing grounds and even the Bahamas in easy reach. New England boaters can make Block Island, Martha’s Vinyard, and Nantucket in a jiffy. In Tiara’s home territory of Michigan the boat can head to Mackinac or cross the lake when weather permits. The possibilities are endless.

What makes the deck space compelling is the modularity at play. A section of the port sidedeck acts as a deployable swimstep while a large seating-accommodations structure sits right in the middle of the deck with two options. The Buffet Lounge option, that’s been doing the demonstration rounds, is essentially a luxury yachting-themed structure on a Lazy Susan that can rotate 360 degrees to position the bench style seating and al dente galley range according to the user’s relaxing or grilling needs. The builder advertises an Adventure Module that opts for more fishing-oriented features: 42-gallon livewell, freezer tank, cutting board, and more. The impression one gets is that the 39LS is meant to whisk the owner away at fast speeds to either luxuriate with the buffet lounge or do some serious fishing with the adventure module—buyer’s choice. There is additional u-shaped padded bench seating on the deck under the hardtop amidships that faces aft toward the buffet lounge/adventure module and stern for socializing.
Tiara prides itself on offering a high degree of customization, so it’s unlikely that any two 39LS yachts will be exactly the same. However they all will feature the padded, foldable helm seating sheltered under the hardtop and behind the windshield. Among the electronics is a Garmin 9019 GPSMAP 9000 MFD display listed as standard with a ZipWake Dynamic Control Trim System and Lewmar 12V Bow Thruster System. The Fusion MS-SRX400 stereo system should bring down the house with a reported 14 JL audio speakers throughout the boat.
Padded foredeck seating with a small table is accessed via a walkway on the starboard side. There’s no port walkway, but this allows for more foredeck seating and space belowdecks. Deployable shade awnings can be utilized to shelter this foredeck area and aft deck.

But wait, there’s more! Below deck is a queen vee berth and en suite head complete with walk-in shower. An addition to the 39LS that was lacking in its 38LS predecessor is a small berth tucked aft of the stairwell, ideal for an overnight with the kiddo or a guest. The 39LS is definitely a sport boat first and foremost but provides comfortable accommodations for longer excursions and overnights.
The new Tiara 39LS is a beamier, improved big sister to the popular 38LS with an additional berth below. The highly customizable buffet lounge/adventure module is an intriguing innovation that’ll no doubt be a major selling point. We look forward to hopping aboard for a spin sometime soon. If you are headed to any of the East coasts fall boat shows the new Tiara 39 LS has scheduled stops at the Newport RI, Norwalk, and Annapolis(power) before making its way down to Fort Lauderdale. In the meantime, you can do your own deep dive on the Tiara website here.
