Watch out fish here comes the New Regulator 35!
Built in North Carolina by experienced fishermen for fishermen, Regulator boats are known for combining quality craftsmanship with fishability. When I realized that they had a new model at the Miami show I had to see it for myself. The pronounced bow flare on the new Regulator 35 stood out amongst the boats in the convention center.

Designed to keep the boat dry even at speed, the flare and the deep V hull with 24° deadrise combined with the Seakeeper Ride™ 750 control system adds stability, performance, and offshore capability. Powered by triple Yamaha Offshore F350 4-stroke engines, the new Regulator 35 is designed to get you safely and swiftly to where the bite is happening. When you return with the catch the Helm Master™ EX joystick ensures precise maneuverability to make docking a snap even when short-handed.
Designed for serious fishing, the large aft deck has plenty of room to fish with six stainless steel aft gunwale rod holders, 11 rocket launchers off the T-top, and the capability to place up to 49 rod holders around the boat. At the center of the transom is a pressurized oval livewell with a window and high-volume pump, flanked by bluewater bait stations on both port and starboard sides. Dual aft in-deck fish boxes provide ample storage for the catch and a washdown helps keep things clean. There is also unencumbered access to the bow on both sides of the boat when you need to walk forward.
The self-bailing cockpit has a transom-mounted stainless steel scupper system. When not fishing, a dual flip-down transom seat offers extra seating. A starboard boarding door includes a removable folding ladder ideal for diving, swimming, or dragging in really big fish.
The boat’s raised helm deck is designed for maximum functionality, with good visibility forward and easy access to controls including the factory-Installed Garmin® Offshore 35 Package which includes twin 22” GPSMAP® 9222XSV multi-touch chartplotter/sonar displays. The screens are connected to an Airmar® B275LHW wide beam 1kW CHIRP Transducer for optimal fishfinding, and a GMR™ 424 xHD 4kW open-array radar for safety and bird spotting. Triple cushioned helm seats feature beautiful teak crafted backs, the power sliding center seat provides comfort and access to the stainless-steel steering wheel with integral power knob. A new custom T-Top ventilation system ensures optimal air distribution and mist elimination. Additionally, the T-Top incorporates innovative drainage gutters that double as integrated handrails, enhancing safety and convenience.
Creature Comforts
The forward deck is designed with both functionality and comfort in mind. The standard split forward seating includes a center walkthrough leading to the bow and direct access to the anchor locker, maintaining ample seating space on both port and starboard sides. An optional flush-folding center seat can transform the area into wrap-around forward seating.
The forward console settee includes a built-in cooler, a flush-mounted electric table, and integrated flip-up backrests with storage behind therm. The raised bullnose toe rail enhances stability and aesthetics.

The console interior of the Regulator 35 is designed for comfort and practicality. Accessed via a flush-integrated port side door, the cabin includes sleeping accommodations for two, a flip-down berth extension, and built-in reading lights. Alongside the electric head are a solid surface countertop and sink, along with ample storage compartments and a mirror. Overhead LED lights, wood-grain laminate flooring, and custom Sunbrella® interior accents provide ambiance.
Regulator president and co-founder Joan Maxwell is dedicated to making sure that each new model is a step up. Two years of research, development, testing, and consumer insights went into the Regulator 35 which incorporates new systems and technology. A military grade sea chest developed by the U.S. Navy for unmanned drone boats onboard the 35 is self-cleaning, self-flushing, and eliminates the need to clean raw water strainers. The Regulator 35 is the first recreational boat to carry the new Dometic DG3 Gyro Stabilizer as an option. This energy efficient gyro system features faster spin up and down times, fewer moving parts for less maintenance. The gyro’s power draw is so low the standard E-Hub Lithium Battery System also from Dometic Marine can run it, onboard Garmin electronics and even air conditioning at the same time, eliminating the noise and fumes from a generator.
The Regulator 35 is designed to be an exceptional offshore fishing vessel that seamlessly blends high-performance capabilities with premium comfort and advanced technology. It was great checking out this new Regulator at the show and I look forward to getting on board the boat in the water to really see what she can do.
